Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group Incorporated

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website, applying for membership, or using any services provided by the Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group Incorporated (INSIG Inc), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Incorporation Rules.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our website or services. These terms apply to all users of the website, members, and participants in INSIG Inc activities.

INSIG Inc reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. Definitions

In these Terms & Conditions:

  • “INSIG Inc” means the Immunisation Nurses Special Interest Group Incorporated, a non-profit association incorporated under Victorian law
  • “Member” means a person admitted to membership under our Incorporation Rules
  • “Associate Member” means a person admitted to associate membership under our Incorporation Rules
  • “Services” includes our website, member area, events, meetings, educational content, and communications
  • “Content” includes all text, images, videos, documents, and other materials provided through our services
  • “Committee” means the elected executive committee of INSIG Inc

3. Membership Terms

3.1 Eligibility

Members: Must be nurse immunisers with relevant Secretary Approval under regulation 161 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2017 (Vic).

Associate Members: Must have an interest in immunisation practice but are not required to be nurse immunisers.

3.2 Application Process

  • All applications must be submitted through the official membership form
  • Applicants must confirm they have read and agree to comply with our Incorporation Rules
  • The Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application without stating reasons
  • Membership becomes effective upon Committee approval and payment of fees

3.3 Membership Year

The membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August. Memberships expire on 31 August each year and must be renewed to continue access to member services.

3.4 Member Rights and Responsibilities

Member rights and responsibilities are detailed in our Incorporation Rules. Key points include:

  • Access to member-only content and events
  • Voting rights (full members only)
  • Compliance with professional standards and INSIG Inc rules
  • Respectful conduct in all interactions

4. Website Use

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use our website for:

  • Accessing information about INSIG Inc
  • Applying for membership
  • Managing your member account (members only)
  • Accessing member content (members only)
  • Registering for events and activities

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You must not:

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to restricted areas
  • Share member login credentials with non-members
  • Copy, distribute, or republish member-only content without permission
  • Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Interfere with the website’s operation or security
  • Use automated systems to access or scrape content
  • Impersonate another person or organisation

4.3 Account Security

Members are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials
  • Promptly reporting any unauthorised use of their account

5. Member Obligations

5.1 Professional Standards

Members must:

  • Maintain current nursing registration and immunisation credentials (where applicable)
  • Conduct themselves professionally in all INSIG Inc activities
  • Respect the confidentiality of member information and discussions
  • Comply with relevant health professional standards and codes of conduct

5.2 Communication and Conduct

  • Treat all members, staff, and stakeholders with respect and courtesy
  • Engage in constructive and professional discourse
  • Report any concerns about conduct through appropriate channels
  • Respect diverse viewpoints and experiences within the immunisation community

5.3 Continuing Professional Development

While not mandatory, members are encouraged to:

  • Participate in INSIG Inc educational activities
  • Stay current with immunisation guidelines and best practices
  • Share knowledge and experience with fellow members
  • Support the professional development of colleagues

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Membership Fees

  • Annual membership fees are set by resolution at the Annual General Meeting
  • Current fees: $50 per annum (as of 1 September 2025)
  • Pro-rata fees may apply for new members joining mid-year
  • Fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at Committee discretion

6.2 Event Fees

  • Some events may have additional registration fees
  • Member discounts apply to paid events
  • Payment is required at time of registration unless otherwise specified
  • Event cancellation and refund policies apply as specified for each event

6.3 Payment Methods

We accept payment through secure online platforms. All transactions are processed according to our payment processor’s terms and security standards.

6.4 Overdue Payments

Members with overdue fees may have their membership suspended until payment is received. Memberships unpaid for 12 months may be automatically terminated.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 INSIG Inc Content

All content provided by INSIG Inc, including but not limited to:

  • Website design and functionality
  • Educational materials and presentations
  • Meeting recordings and resources
  • INSIG Inc branding and logos

remains the intellectual property of INSIG Inc and is protected by copyright law.

7.2 Member Use Rights

Members are granted limited rights to:

  • Access and view member content for personal professional development
  • Download materials for individual use as specified
  • Share content within member discussions as appropriate

7.3 Restrictions

Without prior written permission, you may not:

  • Reproduce or redistribute INSIG Inc content for commercial purposes
  • Modify or create derivative works from our content
  • Use INSIG Inc branding or logos
  • Share member-only content with non-members

7.4 Third-Party Content

Some content may be provided by third parties (guest speakers, partner organisations). Such content remains the property of its creators and may have additional usage restrictions.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

8.1 Privacy Policy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8.2 Member Confidentiality

Members must respect the privacy and confidentiality of:

  • Other members’ personal and professional information
  • Confidential discussions in member meetings
  • Sensitive professional or workplace information shared in confidence
  • Committee deliberations and internal matters

8.3 Professional Obligations

Nothing in these terms overrides members’ legal or professional obligations regarding confidentiality, mandatory reporting, or professional standards.

9. Liability and Disclaimers

9.1 Service Availability

While we strive to maintain continuous service, INSIG Inc does not guarantee that:

  • The website will be available at all times
  • All content will be error-free or completely up-to-date
  • The service will meet your specific requirements
  • Technical issues will not occur

9.2 Professional Advice

Important: Content provided by INSIG Inc is for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional medical, nursing, or legal advice. Members should:

  • Consult current clinical guidelines and protocols

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, INSIG Inc’s liability is limited to:

  • The amount of membership fees paid in the current year
  • Re-supply of services (at our discretion)

INSIG Inc excludes liability for:

  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Actions taken based on information provided
  • Third-party content or services

9.4 Indemnification

Members agree to indemnify INSIG Inc against claims arising from:

10. Termination

10.1 Membership Termination

Membership may be terminated by:

  • Member resignation (with appropriate notice)
  • Non-payment of fees
  • Disciplinary action under our Incorporation Rules
  • Breach of these terms

10.2 Service Suspension

INSIG Inc may suspend or restrict access to services for:

  • Violation of terms or professional standards
  • Technical or security reasons
  • Pending investigation of complaints
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Access to member services immediately ceases
  • Downloaded content should be deleted
  • Outstanding obligations remain in effect
  • Confidentiality obligations continue

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Victorian courts.

These terms are subject to and must be read in conjunction with:

  • INSIG Inc Incorporation Rules
  • Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic)
  • Australian Consumer Law
  • Relevant health professional regulations
