This course will update the skills and knowledge of the nurse immuniser to respond to an emergency event following immunisation.

Immunisation Coalition: 4th Primary Care Infectious Diseases Meeting
The Immunisation Coalition is delighted to announce the 4th Primary Care Infectious Diseases meeting on 17 October at the RACV City Club, Melbourne.
Theme: Initiatives to lift vaccination rates across the ages.
This is a hybrid event, specifically designed for General Practitioners, Nurse Immunisers and Pharmacists who are on the front line of vaccinating Australians against infectious diseases.
Onsite attendance is limited to 100 delegates. All seats are reserved for GPs, Nurses and Pharmacists, and where possible are proportioned equally across all three professions.

World Flu Day 2026 Symposium, 29-30 October 2026
The World Flu Day 2026 Symposium is a major international scientific event bringing together leading experts in influenza research from Australia, China, Japan and beyond. Hosted jointly by the Doherty Institute and the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza, the symposium will explore the latest advances in influenza epidemiology, transmission, virology, immunology and vaccines.
Held for the first time outside of China and Japan, this two‑day symposium will feature keynote presentations, an emerging researcher session, and an evening poster and networking event.
World Flu Day (observed annually on November 1st) highlights the ongoing global burden of influenza and the importance of scientific innovation, preparedness and international collaboration. The symposium provides a unique forum to share knowledge, strengthen global research connections and contribute to the future of influenza prevention and control.

Attendees can also register for our add-on Immunisation Emergencies Workshop, which includes an accredited CPR refresher (HLTAID009). This workshop will be led by PAEDS Education and is suitable for clinical and non-clinical staff. It will be held onsite from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Completing an annual CPR refresher is required for immunisation practice. There are limited places available for the Immunisation Emergencies Workshop add-on.
